Sounds familiar to you?? No?? Just because it doesn't I shall introduce you who Andrea de Luna is. He's a italian rally driver who's home is near Treviso. He's known as very atractive and fast driver into one. Last year he was driving Renault Clio Williams and managed to win Prealpi rally in overall.
First time we were able to see him driving was rally della Marca 2007 but at that time we didn't really know who he really is. I managed to made only one picture of him and just because we were waitting for Marko Jeram to come.
On Alpi Orientali last year we really found out who he is. He's driving on Alpi was really AMAZING. He was driving very very fast and he was sliding trough every corner we watched him. He was so fast that he manged to beat all of S1600 cars but he lost the batlle with some other Clio A7. Then I began to pay attention on name Andrea de Luna in Clio A7.
After few months of paying attention I spoted him at gravel rally well actually ronde Prealpi in Serenaglia della Batagila. It was very interesting to watch him slide on gravel. It was really a prue massage for our eyes. Nothing more to tell about.
Just two weeks later he took part at one very special and uniqe rally in our places Jeanner rally in Freistadt in Austria. This year rally had been driven most on the snow and ice. Andrea was showing outstanding preformances on snow and won rally in front-wheel drive class.
That's it for now about Andrea de Luna but you shall heard about him after Alpi Orientali this year where he'll be racing in Suzuki Ignis S1600 for the very first time. We all hope for the best possible scenario but he'll have a lot of rivals like Logar, Forinasero, Marsic and so on. I shall tell you about his preformance on Alpi. And one simple advice for future: It's worht of waitting for him.
Bassano 2006 was the very first time where we saw Michelle driving. On our first stage which took place early in the morning ( the rally started at midnight ! ) he was the only driver who really drifted through one of the harpins. But on the next stage we saw something every one just wishes, it wasn't naked Pamela but only Michelle in his Corolla WRC did it sideways trough tunnel but really SIDEWAYS. Since that moment we remember Piccolotto as one of our heros.
Few months later, at the end of December 2006 Ronde Citta di Arzignano took part and Piccolotto was there . We expected him with very high ambitions, but after first run of ronde our disappointment about his driving was huge. His driving wasn't even close to that one we have seen in Bassano and I my first thought was ¨ that isn't the right Piccolotto, maybe his younger brother ?!? ¨ .
Prealpi Master Show 2006 was the first time we saw Piccolotto driving in gravel . He was driving quite well except in the third round he crashed into bridge but nothing serious happend to his Impreza , nor to Greek flag ( see enclosed video ) .
Second time we saw him driving on the gravel surface was rally very close to air base in Aviano - Rally Azzano 2007. Stages were not complicated so drivers did not have an opportunity to show all their skills . One stage was an exception, it included a jump and our guy Michelle jumped longest and highest , jump mark was pure No. 10 . Piccolotto and co-driver Perin didn't manage to reach the finish line, they retired after engine failure on SS. 9.
Rally della Marca in Treviso was sad place for Piccolotto because he didn't see finish line once again and we managed to saw him only on one stage (second was cancled) . Mistake , we saw him on friday super special , he drifted the whole track and he awaken the spectators .
Last time in this season when we saw him was rally in Bassano. He was driving his Peugeot 206 WRC and without doubt here was the right Michelle, the ONE who knows the meaning of word " DRIFT " .
Elwis comes from Roisan near Aosta in Italy. He's 32 years old and he has been racing since 1993 on two wheels in year 2000 he changed his enviroment from two to four wheeles. The best result of his carrier is italian S1600 champion(Campioni Italiani S1600) with small but rough Citroen C2 S1600 powerd by Vieffecorse.
Now you're surely asking yourself why I have choosen him ? Simply because he's very atractive and fast rally driver.
First time we saw him on the Rally Valle'd Aosta 2007 while he was driving and drifting his Impreza WRC 1999. Just to remind, rally was won by Marco Silva in 307 WRC second was Musti and third Botta, both of them in 206 WRCs.
Next rally that we saw him going sideways was round one in Europan championship and round three in CIR, rally Mille Miglia 2007. On that rally he didn't get any result but he was very , very atractive. His Lancer Evo was going extremly sideways. He retired in day one but later in day two he came back with almost five minutes penalty so there was no chance to get any result so he decided to drift'em all. The rally was won by Giandomenico Basso in Punto S2000.
No.3 in our meetings was round six in CIR, rally San Martino. This was the first time in this season when he managed to reach the finish line in the tempo of first egiht drivers. He was sixth overall. His rally was going without any blew tyres or technical problem so he could easily drifted all the harpins we saw. The rally was once again won by former european and IRC champion Basso in Punto S2000.
San Crispino was the rally where we met Elwis once again. Rally took place on the roads close to Cesena. That wern't just comon roads they were something special to us. The rally was going trough gravel roads and there were clouds of dust. The weather conditions were great the sun was shining and temperatures were very high. Elwis was once again drifting those gravel corners. He managed to reach the finish line but he wasn't in the best ten. Rally winner became Paolo Andreucci in Mitsubishi Lancer.
Alpi Orientali was the beggining of the end of CIR. The battle between Rosseti and Basso was on the peak. Elwis also took part in Alpi. The rally near Slovenian border was on the tarmac surface and the stages were very tricky for all drivers but that was bonus for spectators because there were a lot of harpins and a lot of drivers drift them, Elwis wasn't an exception.
Montefeltro was the final round of TRT and Elwis was also racing there. Rally was won by Emanuele Dati in Impreza our guy, Elwis took eight place overall. He drove in his standard drifting mood , no further comment needed.
